    The WaSAf (Water Sources of Africa) financed by AFD aims to monitor and improve the quality of inland surface waters in Africa. The objective of the program is to ensure that waters from lakes and rivers, which are known as the main source of water supply of the continent, are non-polluted and safe for people.

  • AFD supports Green Financing in Uganda

    Monday the 11th of July, in the presence of H.E. Sophie Makame, Ambassador of France to Uganda, a contract was signed between the AFD (French Development Agency) and Diamond Trust Bank Uganda (DTB-U), respectively represented by Yves Boudot, the regional director for AFD in East Africa and Varghese Thambi, managing director of DTB-U.

  • AFD holds a press conference in Kampala

    On Wednesday 1st June, the Embassy of France in Uganda invited the Ugandan media for a brief on the AFD activities. H.E Sophie Makame, Ambassador of France to Uganda, Mr. Yves BOUDOT, AFD Regional Director for East Africa, his successor Mr. Bruno DEPRINCE and Ms. Virginie LEROY, AFD representative in Uganda, presented, one after the other, AFD’s commitments and the challenges it has to address in Uganda and the world.

  • France commits 51.7 million € for electricity and capacity building in Uganda

    The Embassy of France in Uganda, the French Development Agency (AFD) and the government of Uganda have signed three financing agreements in 2015, amounting to 51.7 million € of which 51.2 million € for rural electrification and 500,000 € for feasibility studies and capacity building.
