    On Thursday 24th September 2015, France Médias Monde (FMM), represented by Mr. Jean-Marc Belchi, Distribution and Development Director for Africa, and Vision Group, represented by Mr. Michael Owor, Urban TV Manager, signed a partnership agreement to broadcast France24 English programmes on Urban TV and TV West.

  • A Franco-South African act opens the Kampala International Theatre Festival

    It is a paradox that the country which presided over the most institutionalised system of racial discrimination in the world, apartheid, is precisely where many cultures now coexist. It is on this note that begins and ends the Franco-South African play Ster City that opened the Kampala International Theatre Festival on Wednesday 26th November 2014.

  • Inauguration of the new premises of Alliance française de Kampala

    The new premises of Alliance française de Kampala, located on plot 52 Bukoto Street in Kamwokya, were inaugurated on Tuesday 25th November 2014. In this new building which is bigger, easily identifiable and accessible, shared with its German partner, Goethe Zentrum - Ugandan German Cultural Society, Alliance française will continue to offer various cultural programmes and quality French lessons to its visitors.

    The Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Hon. Mary Karooro Okurut, was the Guest of Honour at the opening of the photo exhibition “Women in resistance” in Kampala. In the New Vision of 16th September, she writes about this event which honours two Ugandan women, among others.

    Scheduled from 8th to 30th September 2014 at the Uganda Museum, the photo exhibition “Women in Resistance” covers the entire works of Mr. Pierre –Yves Ginet between 1998 and 2006, showing women’s struggles all over the world for equality, justice, democracy, dignity and survival.

  • French Embassy shines at the Kampala Duathlon

    On Sunday 9th March, near Kyambogo University, was held the 4th Kampala Duathlon. This competition which involves running and cycling in pairs brought together some sixty sportsmen and women, including two representatives of the French Embassy : Gaultier Brand-Gazeau (Economic Advisor) and Bruno Debard (security officer).
